FIG PLANT

The scientific name of fig is Fiucs Carica. Fig fruit tree is among the easiest of the fruit trees that we can grow. They grow happily in both the ground and containers. Fig trees require well draining and fertile soil. The best soil for growing fig trees is loamy soil that has plenty of organic matter. Figs thrive in areas with long and hot summers. In cold areas we can grow figs in containers and keep inside for the winter. You can eat fig fresh from the tree, preserved, or used in cooking.
